I'm new to AE, please help!

I just purchased and downloaded this template

I want to change/insert some more icons and texts. I have some basic knowledge with photoshop on changing text, layer style, etc, but I have no idea how to do this with AE.

I wish I could help you. I just got AE. What I do is look for tutorials that are similar to what I need. I use youtube a lot for that and also the adobe website. Good luck!

There should be text layers you can click on and change the text, double click, without seeing the actual template it's really hard to know how the artist did the text. If the text is done as an image in your project panel, you can right click, then go to replace, and replace with what ever you want, "replace footage file".
