Do many of you guys use twitter? I have recently been experimenting with it to drive traffic to my work. I have seen it drive views up very well on sites that show real time view stats.
OK so here is my comment/suggestion for Pond5.
There is a twitter button on the main page of my portfolio but all they see is maybe 40 or so clips and my about me... There is a link to ALL my clips but it does not even look like a link exactly it's just a little different colored number. If you click that number though you get to all my clips. When you go to that page there are links for FB like, and google plus, but no twitter link.
I think you could be missing out big time on allot of potential sales, and traffic, driven by people who are trying to be proactive with social media marketing. So if you could please add that link, I would really appreciate it!!!!

Great to see it is working for you. Me personally, I have a twitter account but never go to it or use it. If it does help then of course P5 needs to take advantage of it. A link that we can immediately attach a photo or clip from our portfolio would be very useful.

That would be cool, I'm not even asking for that much though just a simple button on a page so I can direct people to the main quantity of content.
Twitter overall from the people I talk to isn't very successful but I think it's due to the approach. Also overall if you average say there are 100 content producers that use it, (random number) if each one of them sent a link to P5 once a week even, it has huge potential social media marketing wise for the site overall. They might get here through my link but buy your stuff, who knows.
I know currently the sites outlook on this is, "that most users buy via the search feature", well as an artist we are all under the influence of the almighty algorithm that decides who's content is seen first. Being proactive as an artist trying to get the word out about your work, trying to get seen... It's a big deal, unfortunately. From my experience with it, I would definitely suggest it for everyone as a way to be seen, and build a following.
You just have to do it the right way, and I will outline that for you if my experiment with it is a success. My start date for the experiment was 4-6-14 my end date is 6-6-14.
Currently on sites with real time stats depending on the clip and the time of day, I'm able to drive a clips views up from 0 to 20, 40, 60 or even 100. I have also seen better sales. The interesting thing to me is, it's kind of like you can show someone a brand new car at a great price, if they have no need for a car, they have 3 at home, well of coarse they are not going to buy the car. The real catch to it is, if they find themselves in need of a car, they say oh that guy sells cars, he has nice cars, we had a good interaction, I'm going to go there and get that car. So it's not the sales you make today, or on the link you send, it's more of an overall influence. You can't look at it as I sent out link to clip X and clips X didn't sell, this doesn't work...
It's like the package deals, bundles have proven to not work, it's sales on a by needs basis.
