On camera lighting

Looking for an on camera light, any recommends? I just ordered a Y bracket to have my sound and a light on the hot shoe.
Also, I ordered me a wireless mic :-). The G2 Series 100 kit witht he M2 mic!!! EXCITED!

Man, you're gearing up for some serious event video.
I bought a 100 watt on camera light from B&H. Works great but it's very bright so it will blind people in a dark room. I usually point it up to bounce off the ceiling if possible.

I was looking at the LED lights since the're not as bright, hot, and take less power.
The trade off since they aren't as bright, you will have to be closer to the subject. Not always possible.

While the Bescor is inexpensive it has no dimmer control and if you had to run it for, say for four strait, you'd need a large battery source. Than do you need the full 100 watts all the time. Alot depends on the camera and how well it works in low light conditions.
Myself ,I use NRG varalux pro which dimmable. A 100 watt blub at 12 volts uses 81/3 amps an hour.
