What does "post a comment" actually do?

Hello, I recently bought an audio clip (advertised as a seamless loop) which turned out to be a low quality highly compressed audio clip (which also did not loop very well at all due to a fast fade at the end of the clip - definitely not seamless). I posted a comment (using the "post a comment" button on the clip detail page) warning potential users that the clip had some issues but those comments don't appear to show anywhere. So... what exactly is the purpose of "post a comment" button?
When I asked pond5.com about a possible refund or credit since I was very unhappy with the clip. Being my first purchase, I just assumed (wrongly) that the final purchased clip would be production quality and that the preview sample I was listening to was simply highly compressed because it was a preview. But unfortunately the purchased clip was the same high compression - just unusable, so a complete waste of money. I didn't notice the "technical specs" button at the time so I could have saved myself a bad purchase had I read that, so that was my fault. Now I know. So technically pond5 could have said "you got exactly what you paid for" and they'd be right. Even still, the fact remains that at a site like this I expect a production quality clip and I just didn't get anything near that, and was very disappointed to not get one, even if I didn't read the fine print.
Pond5 sent me to the artist who totally took care of me and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was happy with an even better replacement clip and explained that it was some kind of error, either pond5 did something wrong or the artist uploaded the wrong (compressed) clip. I totally understand human error and replied to the artist's request to bump up my rating that I'd be more than happy to once the clip is fixed and I intend on following through with that, hence my visit today to check. Though the artist did the right thing, the posted clip is still very poor quality. I'm not really rating the artist, who gets a solid 5 stars, I'm rating the clip.
The clip is still the same, and what is also interesting is that the clip suddenly has 2 more ratings bumping it up. For almost 2 years since the initial upload it had zero ratings and now within the last 10 days suddenly it's got two more (other than mine)? And they were high ratings? Really? This seems highly unlikely that it's just random chance to me.
So I wonder what the holdup is. Either no change request was made or pond5 is taking a long time to fix the error. Or the artist has no way to fix the uploaded clip? Which seems very strange to me.
Overall I really like pond5.com and now that I am more familiar with the features I know exactly how to avoid buying any poor quality clips again!

Sorry about your problem but I'm glad to see the artist gave you what you need and all is well.
As to the comments, there are two one for Facebook and one for Pond5 only. The comments on either should be instant.
As to the clip, we don't have a way of replacing a clip that may be defective or damaged in some way. If it were mine I would delete the clip and upload the corrected version.

Well the artist certainly saw the comments, but they are not visible to me or anyone else, it seems. I wonder if some censoring is going on because they were not positive? I hate to be suspicious like that but some funny stuff is sure going on. The ratings magically increase and my comments are gone. What is going on?

I guess it really doesn't matter at this point. Your issue was resolved and im sure the artist will resolve the online clip.

Was the loop an mp3? Mp3’s don’t loop seamlessly. That is why a wav file needs to be used. If P5 could place that info somewhere during audio uploads for content providers and also before checkout for the purchaser it may help.
