Who are buyers for video?

Having uploaded my first stock video shots, I wonder: who are the most important buyers and are percentages known?
Broadcast companies like BBC, ARD and such? Webdesigners? Videoproduction companies?

All of the above and more, we just don't know the percentages - as the marketplace holders like Pond5 - don't give away that information. Please go to my article http://www.stockvideoseller.com/public_html/what-to-sell-2.htmlfor a place to start pondering about what stock footage to choose to upload. Certainly not the final word, but gives you some idea.

Great advise! I allready adjusted some of my keywords, titles and thumbnails. Having asked the question: I was thinking about my way of shooting, trying to make several shots that can be edited. For broadcast that's important, for web designers problably not.

Johan, a good start. Beware of subjects like "ducks on a pond" which I see you have many of. It's tempting because they are there and easy to shoot, but the odds of selling one of these shots is next to zero. If your area has some unique locations you can access on a great day, or if you have (or can make) access to industrial or commercial subjects, you'll probably have a better chance at selling something.
