Some questions...

Okay, so I signed up for selling my footage on pond5 and now I have some questions:

- There does not seem to be a lot of activity on pond5: few posts on the forums, not a word on when my clips will be reviewed, latest announcement almost a month ago. What's going on? Anybody there?
- What will be the difference between beta and the real thing? Why is it beta now?
- Why is it so hard to find an address of pond5? I could only find one address deeply hidden in the legal statements. Nothing on contact page, nothing in the faq about pond5. I am sending you my footage potentially worth hundreds or thousands of dollars, a little transparancy please.
- Why do I not appear on the artists page?

Other then that the site looks good, uploading is easy and I really hope things will be going well.

hi Studioari, welcome! To your points:

• Activity... depends on how you look at it. Last month was one of our busiest in terms of sales and uploads. And now that you're here the forums are seeing some activity too ;-)

• Everything is fully functional and secure, but we're calling it 'beta' as a way of saying -- work in progress, changes coming. Of course, once we've come out of beta we'll continue to modify, update and improve things, so 'beta' is really just shorthand for 'first iteration'. Post-beta will have an improved look and feel, and some cool new functionality. There will also be a lot of less visible changes that will keep things running smoothly on the back-end as the site grows.

• we're a web-based company with people around the world, and currently in the process of shifting hq from the west coast (Oregon) to the East (New York). Our address is posted in several places - people send us material by mail all the time - and if you drop us a note we'll happily answer.

• you'll appear on the list of artists page once your clips are approved. You get a sitemail when that happens, and if you've selected "send sitemail to email" on your preferences page, you'll get an email too.

Thanks, and again - welcome!

Thanks for the answers.

It might be me but I find it hard to tell where the company is based and who are the people behind it. The address to send your material to is a P.O. box...

Any idea how long the queue for review is?

Reviews are quite fast usually. Usually less than 48 hours. A bit slower currently - due to the activity behind the scenes, I hope.

As for sales, I certainly won't complain. ;-)
