Why description field is a must?

since P5 doesn't show buyers description anymore
why it is still a must in the upload process?

I see the description above my nickname.

If the description is long or there are hyperlinks embedded there is a "See Item Description" note which brings a popup window,but if you cant seem to notice it at a first glance nor can the buyers i suppose.
Which is not good.

probably helps with search engines too to get more information per clip.
