Refine keyword search?

Yes, this should be moved to the artist forum.

Just a general consideration and then I´m personally done: I have randomly looked at some former clips of mine and they were a disaster. Definitely, it would take me longer than 2 days to polish my gallery.

Problem is: Tagging your own clips, you always connect them to the shooting situation and surroundings which are not visible in the clip. So you include keywords that, to someone else, have nothing to do with the content. You might also include tags that reflect your personal emotional interpretation of the scene, just because you felt like this that day, but there is nobody or nothing that would transmit that feeling to another person.

Also, sometimes you have good sales and love microstock footage and your brain starts firing keywords at will, and another day you didn´t have a download in 10 days, you feel bored and like wasting your time, and then you do what you actually should always do: just describe with a few words what you see...

Seems to me that the only two ways to resolve this matter are
-artists developing a standardized tagging strategy that doensn´t depend on if you´re having a good or a bad day or if you´re tired or awake, and
-P5 running the artist tags through a "neutral filter" if they can afford another specialized curator.

(Un)fortunatley, the keywording is not a P5 problem. It´s a problem of all sites. I do not have the impression that they would take a closer look at other places. Actually, I never got any comment or rejection b/c. of keywording.

Cheers,
Stefan
