Clip Association

Hi all,

Comparable but not exactly the same as the "merging formats" question in the other forum: I wanted to ask P5 if we could get back the former "associate clips" feature, maybe this time along with some guidelines? These could be: Clips have to be submitted to review at once, no later associations possible, and they must not differ in more than just one characteristic. The curators could still be able to "de-associate" them again if they think it doesn´t make sense.

I am mainly thinking of combining real time and time-lapsed versions of the same clip. Those who are more into post edition could e.g. associate the original clip and a color graded version.

Just an idea....

You can put links to other clips (including previews) in descriptions now, so you can essentially do that yourself.

Thanks, that was helpful! So far I didn´t pay much attention to these options.

Actually it´s not that much less work compared to what I have been doing with text, but the icons and popup previews make it look better and more convenient for clients.

Still, I think the simple mark-associate feature was one of those good ideas that didn´t survive due to the lack of clear guidelines. So, maybe "soon"... :)?

How do you put a link to another clip (or previews) in the description? I see it in some descriptions, but not how to do it.

Via the "clip" button below the description field. Put the item-ID of the clip you wanna link to, then choose one of 3 options (I use "icon") and then link-to "ok".This will generate a mouse over popup and a click-link to the clip page.

You can then also move the icon by moving the whole generated http://..... text body, but don´t loose the brackets.
