Release forms for buyer?

Hi,

I've had a buyer contact me directly for a copy of a release form for a clip they are interested in purchasing. The clip in question has a release on record with Pond5. I could send the form, but am looking to streamline this process--is there a way the buyer can download a copy of the release directly from Pond5?

I take it this is a release with a person in the video?
I would never give a release to anyone. There is too much personal data about the model in that. And I can't see why anyone would need to have that release.
I guess if you really felt the need, ask the model first to see if it's OK with them.

I have had customers ask the age of a model in my video but that is all the data I would give.

You should almost NEVER give a release form with your model's info to a buyer. Especially at RF prices.

I have signed a release for buyers, but would never provide that info to a buyer unless it was an unusual circumstance.

If it's a movie studio, they need to negotiate an extended license with you (or Pond5) first and then you can give them a copy of the form.

KKSHY, that's an interesting take on the release issue. I had never thought of it that way before. Why release info to some stalker and make yourself libel? We need to think these things thru. The ease of uploading "editorial" footage here is disarmingly easy.

Back to the release. If the company accepted it, it should be good enough for the buyer. It certainly ain't worth 50 buck to me to open a can of worms. These release/editoral issues seem particularly unexamined in the new information explosion environment. I can google any address in the US and see a street level view of somebody's, almost anybodies house.

When Discovery Networks bought some of my clips, they contacted me and asked me to sign a release for some clips used in a TV show. I have no problem with that.

And I can see if a movie studio needed their own model release for a clip, but in that case I'd have to discuss it with the model first and they'd have to pay extra for it.

dnavarrojr - sound great. I would too. I presume those clips didn't have a release allready.

Actually, they didn't need a release since they were CG. But when used on TV shows (not commercials), Discovery Networks and a few others ask the artist to sign releases allowing them to use the clips on the show since the shows are often sold.

One of the clips purchased by them didn't quite fit their needs and they paid me to do an exclusive custom version. It was definitely the highlight of my week. And I'll absolutely go ballistic when the show finally airs this summer and I can finally name it and show it off.
