i rented it from a local post house in barcelona. might cost you a bit in shipping. they told me Ohio was just a few miles outside of their delivery zone :-)

it was 180 euros for the weekend to rent...

got some footage in the pond Q right now... :-)

Tell them to send it via boat, cheaper shipping :-).

I was considering this camera after seeing it at NAB, but for some reason I still hate AVCHD pretty badly. I think I just need to get a Mac and get over it hehe

the avchd is a bit annoying, but i read that it is s a professional implementation of the codec and different from how it compresses footage on consumer cams. so the quality is really nice. however on a mac was still annoying to convert the mts files into pro-res before post processing in ae and then converting to pjeg. i almost ran out of disk space, as the files ended up huge and it takes a long time to convert.. so its a new workflow..

if you go to my portfolio and change to date uploaded for the order, the newest clips there are from the sony shoot..

i did a shoot yesterday with a talented young musician, who drums, sings and plays guitar. i was back to the 5d i am have to say i missed the sony..well hopefully still got some great stuff.

undecided about this camera. will wait a few months and see what else comes out , and if an adaptor comes out to change canon lens´ apertures, and maybe rent it again if i really want it for a shoot...

I'm renting it tomorrow with the nanoflash and a Nikon Macro 50mm T2.0. I'll let you know how that goes.

have fun with the camera!!. let us know if the files recorded to the nanoflash are of a noticeably higher quality than the avchd in camera clips....

I've been shooting a little and have noticed the color on the nanoflash is MUCH better and more rich. Not sure if I have some settings goofed up on the camera (picture profiles maybe?). I was reading somewhere and it said to dial in the fs100 when you first get it because it looks like crap out of the box. Another thing I noticed was that the 100mbits per second vs the 24mbits wasn't THAT much different. It was an outdoor well lit shot...so that might be why. I'm going to continue my testing and see what I come up with.. will post some shots soon, just haven't had time. I've also been shooting with the mark II so it is hard to keep all the videos straight hahah

as i only had a day and a 1/2 with the cam, and not so much time to test, i just made a picture style following this guys settings -

http://crookedpathfilms.com/blog/2011/07/05/idiots-guide-to-the-sony-fs100/

it gave a really flat image, that looked at first quite dull on the computer, but proved a great basis to do post work and colour correction on...

im sure there are a multitude of setting and options giving different results though...
