Homepage Exposure

Does anyone know how it works?
I often click on the artist name on the homepage previews, and notice that some of the shots used are by contributors with very few shots (14) and others that have numbers in the hundreds, or even thousands.
I'm wondering if it's a script that chooses content at random, or does a curator actually make a choice?

It randomizes clips from https://www.pond5.com/video-sound-effects-music/clipbin%3A3768_1.html. Without particularly deep afterthoughts we randomly throw images we think would catch the eye of a random visitor.

Sadly, nothing has been added to that bin in almost a year (which means users are looking at the same old stuff over and over and over again) and for some unknown reason a lot of stuff was deleted from the bin.
I don't understand why the curators aren't updating the bin any more...

I do also think the homepage clips could need a little more "refreshment". Not because they would sell better, but because I think showing more variety there would have a good marketing effect for P5.
Maybe curators could start to flag those newly approved clips which they think are somehow standing out and being representative for its kind, and then let a random generator pick a new set of 5 or 600 every week or so.
Ha! It´s not easy to run a stock site. Lots of "co-executives"... :).
Cheers,
Stefan
