Codec question

I take a MOV from 5DII and drop it on exiftools. The report shows, among other things "Compressor name: H264" which is a good thing. Now I open it in QT, trim and "SAVE AS" with same name different location. I drop the new file on exiftools and the report says "Compressor ID: AVC1". There is no compressor name. What is going on?

Although H264 and AVC1 are synonyms, I need to keep the H264 property. How can I do that?
