Number of views

I think that the number of views of each clip is very important in order to focus on the right direction.

Does anybody know when the counters will be fixed? I heard that they have problems with the servers.

It is very frustrating to see a number so low. Does anybody know what could be the relationship between the number we see and the real number of views? i.e. a 2 view could be more than 10????!!!

Thank you very much!

I think the Views counters have already been fixed. I can't find it now, but Kennon (I think) posted a message a while ago saying that previously the Views statistic was artificially bloated by web crawlers indexing the site.

The criteria for a "view" was modified during the stats outage, so it is now more accurately recording "real" views. If your figures are similar to mine, the Views stat will be roughly 1/5th of what it was before the outage.

Whats probably most important is the relationship between views and actual sales. Both these numbers really need to be accurate. If footage has a large number of views with no sales then the description or keywords might not be re[presenting the footage well; maybe there is spam that is bringing the footage up in searches when buyers are really not looking for that subject. So if there are lots of views and little to no sales it probably time to go back and fix the keywords and description to be more accurate.

Like Paul said, I believe the counter is fixed. Last year views were three times higher than lately with no significant change in number of sales.
