Hey guys, just got my first batch of videos accepted. Hope they are to everyones standards. My first sale will probably motivate me and make me F5 crazy!! :-)
ps : no 5 in the topic ;-)
Also, I had the curator choose all prices for me, and he set them all to $50, since they are HD 1080i, but I was curious what everyones opinion was on that. Do you guys normally have them set it or do it yourselves?

Well done Scott,
It looks like P5 has raised their suggested HD prices to $50. Several months ago they were pricing somewhat lower. I have always priced my own and HDs are all at and most over $50. I kinda look at the clip and if it's not easily reproduceable then I price it a little higher. In May my total sales have averaged well above $50 each.
.
Dang you must have had the runs pretty bad to use the whole roll at one sitting LOL.
Good luck and sales will start pretty soon for ya. Of course the more you have the better the sales. Still waiting for my last bunch to get reviewed.

Strange - my new clips have been curated with $30, lower than they did before.

Congratulations. :)
Very interesting clips.
I guess I better buy some extra toilet paper, if you ever plan on visiting good ol' Germany again. ;-)

I like pricing my own, If a clip is only useful to a demographic that doesn't have a lot of money to spend, I will price it low.... But if I think the clip can be more useful to a demographic with more money, I will price it high. I have sold 80 90 and 100 dollar clips. Even if a clip is good, it may only be useful to a demographic with not much money. I think its a little simplistic to price all clips the same price, personally dapoopta, I might charge 70 to 100 bucks for your nuclear sign clip because its hard for most people to get. I think big productions would rather buy a clip like that than go to a nuclear cleanup site themselves lol, and I think that clip would be more useful for a news station or a documentarian... and not so much for some low budget wedding videographer or local ad agency.

Thank you for the tips everyone. I am going to run through some peoples profiles and look at what type of pricings they have. I did find it strange that the curator put $50 on all, but thought it might have been because they are backed up and rushed to get things done. I might give my first clips some time to see what sells and what doesn't. Remember, I am totally new to the game :-P

Remember that discussions like this with pricing and artist type discussion probably needs to be in artists forum.
