Making a slideshow from JPEGs

Ok, I have a Nikon D200 SLR but at the moment a camcorder is not within my budget.

Is it possible to submit a slideshow (I have Magix Extreme Photostory) as a video file from single images ? I could do some timelapse sequences edited together with smooth transitions between each image.

Anyone else doing this ?

Hi,
I don't but many people here are doing timelapse with still cameras. That is perfectly fine.
I'm not sure about uploading a slideshow. Remember this is "video" so it needs to have some natural motion and not just different photos flashing on the screen.

BUT, I would do some homework on timelapse before you start to submit a certain concept or subject.
Clouds for instance has over 13,000 clips. so yours would have to be incredible to get any views or sales.

You have to find a niche that isn't over done, look for Andy, (vadervideo) he has some great time-lapse of lighting strikes and weather. That kind of difference would set you apart.

Hope this helps.

Hi Marbury, Since Jake mentioned me, I figured I would also chime in. First off, Jake, thanks for mentioning me. There are many others that also do wonderful things with still cameras as well. You can do everything from traffic scenes, to yes, clouds - but put a little "umpf" into it all. I always try to look for some unique angles, foregrounds, backgrounds to composite the shots. But in any case, experiment and get really familiar with your gear while doing so. This is very important. And always remember, it's not the camera, it's the person behind the camera that makes it all come together. :)
