First impressions of Pond 5

First of all, I was a bit dubious of Pond 5 when I signed up. "Not another footage library in an increasingly crowded market" I thought.

Then I started using it ...
Templates for multiple type clips - great!
Professional descriptive search terms, like "weather, people, time, progressive, archival, tilt" - bang on!
Set your own price - terrific!
A slow to start for sales, but on the increase.

And now to top it all, payment. As soon as I hit my minimum payout - BANG - money in the bank.

Well done Pond 5, I think you may have a strong formula for success here. I'm fully on board.

After getting on to pond5 it has left me totally inert towards the others. Why do all the same work (in many cases more) at the other places for less revenue? Not me. Ain't happening. Niet. Nada. Pond5 is probably gonna kick their butts real quick.

I have researched many others - I just find it hard to believe that so many will jump through all the hoops that they demand first just to get to play. And then after that, low commissions.

"Set your own price - terrific!" True.... must be very terrific to sell clips at 14 bucks

Just realized that there are also clips of me at 10 $. Whats happening here?

You have to be aware of the prices p5 sets for you, because sometimes they seem to skim through and forget to change the price. I've had clips set to $10, an obvious mistake for a HD vid.

I finally got my first sale here yesterday! I was super happy when I saw this!

No shower sale yet :-(. I am upset, thought it would be my best seller! The water out of pipe sold. I was very surprised at that! Wonder what it will be used for.

I wonder the same thing when one of my obscure clips sell.
I like the water pipe video.
