All of my audio tracks are being rejected suddenly

TuneLight 2 Dec 2015 20:41
I've been here for a couple years and up until a month or two ago, never had a single rejection. Now, all of a sudden, curator46 is rejecting most if not all of my recent submissions. These tracks are marketable and high enough quality as they've sold well on other marketplaces. I'm not sure what is going on here, but it has become quite frustrating. Everything from corporate to cinematic orchestral so I don't think it's a genre saturation thing. Has anyone else been experiencing the same thing lately? A response from staff would also be greatly appreciated. Love the community here and would love to stop being frustrated.

Hi TuneLight,

You should have received a message from our curators explaining the rejections.

We have indeed had to tighten up our acceptance standards with audio recently, so we may be a bit stingier that some artists have been used to. Please don't take it personally. We have a very large collection of audio, and we're becoming a little saturated with some things, that's all.

Thanks Jonathan, yes I did but it's the same explanation that everyone gets. I don't think it's an issue with that, or maybe this curator doesn't like me? Like I mentioned, these tracks are high quality and commercial. And I've only ever gotten a rejection from this particular person. You're welcome to take a look and hear for yourself and let me know your thoughts. Thanks for the quick response, that's actually very appreciated.

We only have a handful of audio curators, so most audio submitters only ever see one curator. We don't actually assign curators to artists, generally. And so long as you don't go out of your way to make a curator's day crappy, say with things like name calling, then you can rest assured that it's got nothing to do with how much a curator likes you. :p

For the most part, we like all of our artists, you included. We've just had to make some changes to what we're able to accept. :)

Is it possible to have another curator, say Miklos, assigned to me? If the guidelines have become so stringent, you'd think the quality of new material would be much better. Sadly, I can't say that's true. I just visited the new tracks page and there are many tracks there that should have been rejected if that is the case. Anyways, thank you again Jonathan. Not trying to whine here, but this is kind of a big deal for me.

We won't assign a specific curator to an artist upon request, no, sorry TuneLight. I understand that you feel it would ensure you get more things accepted, but that's not the case. We're not trying to single you out, again, we have just had to tighten up our standards and rules a bit.

Haha, yeah man, my tracks are also getting rejected suddenly by that same curator, so no, I don't think it's personal. It sure sucks tho', as you mentioned I find a lot of new tracks that aren't even mixed and mastered properly get accepted probably by other curators. If you're gonna tighten up the acceptance process it should be across the board with all curators. And it would be awesome if we, the artists know about all them new rules and standards :)

Yeah, it's a little troubling when it's so arbitrary. Rather than doing this, they should go through the catalog and delete older tracks with no sales or only a few sales and which haven't sold anything for a long time. That would be a much better way of keeping things tidy, rather than trying to foretell what is going to sell. Talk about squashing creative ambition.

Curator 46 also rejects all of my tracks. This lottery?

Funny. I just got my first rejection from curator22 today. Maybe they're trying to prove a point? Right after I posted about this in the forums too. Smells a bit fishy. I'm now 0 for 6 in the last week.
