Looking for iSyndica Distribution Alternative

Marcus, the iSyndica distribution function was the most valuable, you are correct. I'll look into your recommendation. Maybe I could get a programer here in Bangkok to whip something like this up for me.

May I suggest http://lh5.ggpht.com/_gL0bNNohjA8/TMGe-yRIXmI/AAAAAAAAAQE/U7ngwhj1SzU/s1152/isyndica.jpg another worthless interface?

Truely "in the cloud" wideweb! Funny! The Amazon thing is intriguing but incomprehensible.... for mortals....

I've been in contact with the guy wanting to start a similar system as Isyndica. He was very helpful and described in length his ideas at this time. For photo it looks like a no-brainer. He did state that due to costs, people with large video files that are in the 500mb area will not happy with the costs.

This is the guy at picNiche.com? Have you seen these guys? http://www.pixamba.com/

There's also this guy at http://www.picniche.com/index.aspx who states he going to do it. Or wants to. Maybe.

ya.
I hope he doesn't mind, here is part of his e-mail to me ...

"It's certainly a difficult prospect for lots of large video, my launch plan is to support images and any file paired with an image (.jpg with .ai/.eps/.mov/.mp4/.avi etc) though the huge sizes of some videos is a tough estimate for actual costs.
It looks like I'll be running a base-price of 1cent (US) for each 25mb of file, with files less than 25mb priced flat at 1c. I'll also be adding value-added services as soon as I can find a provider for things like keywording/captioning and will be incorporating stat tracking and analytics via the current picNiche toolbar for free. This should allow some flexibility and present an attractive price to the majority of the potential clients, though if all of your 5000 videos are in the 500+ mb range then it would probably be unattractive pricing to you. ... I'll be able to make a better informed decision about whether I can offer bulk-pricing or pricing specific to large files such as video after launch when I have more idea about how many people will use the service for images ..."

Well, Iet's wait for this one. I'd be very surprised to see it come on-line. But maybe he can do it..

While uploading is a major PITA, I am nearly finished with some scripts and such to handle all of my uploading chores on my computer (just drop a clip into a folder and my scripts will automatically upload it to the sites I designate).

What I am more interested in is a site that does all of the analytics that iSyndica did and handles all of the sites that iSyndica did.

Prostockmaster will support video and custom FTP in November 2010. Probably better than iSyndica because it all sits on your own computer!
