John Brawley said he will post some "soon" but likely it will be a few months from now when they get footage from the shipping camera. Just like they did with the first BMC

"Mat asked about cinema DNG recording and recording onto SD cards. Stuart told him Blackmagic were trying to address the format as one can't get an SSD into one of these small cameras. The solution is using a standard class 10 SD card, meaning you can record a pro res 10/80 p file, or you can opt for a cinema DNG file which is a RAW file. However, there is a 'wrapper' on it, so when you record down to an SD card you'll obtain around 30 minutes on a 128 gig. Pro res is more than double this at around 70-80 minutes."
This little camera requires a lot of SD cards and batteries if you are going to be filmimg a few hours in the field.

For those buying the 4K ... will P5 get the ability to sell 4K and auto downsize to 1920x1080 HD? It will be a number of years before 4K becomes main stream. The HD market will remain very strong for the foreseeable future.

If P5 don't then I will upload 4K, and HD - possibly 2K as well.

Pond5 doesn't seem to want to do downsizing and to be honest, I'm over pushing for it. On Revostock 99% of my sales are still 1080. So there may not be a great need for downsizing.
So I'll order the 4K camera some time this year and upload 4K footage with it. I'm not wasting time to do any downsizing myself.
Buyers would have the option to buy the 4K use it as is, downsize it or use it to crop the 1080 piece they want out of the 4K video. Much like photo buyers do now.
4K just gives buyers many more options, so its a win for everyone.

Should have ZERO "rolling shutter" - supposedly has global shutter. Up til now, the F55 was the only other camera with global that I know of....and it's a little bt out of my price range!
Sadly, on SS, about half of my sales are downsized. I can't tell you how much it rankles to get $4.74 for a nice HD clip! It's insulting. I HATE downsize options....it cost me the same to shoot and edit and upload and time to tag....
But I agree that 4K will be great for all....rendering into a lower resolution from a higher resolution is great, and the freedom to crop is lovely.

Don, you are somewhat incorrect in your statement reg 4K. 4K sells very well today. Producers buy it because they can do so much more with it in post.
Engineer: I have been uploading in multiple rez's for a long time now and fully control it in regards to tagging. I have sold the same clips in a variety of rez's due to this method. It works very well. :)
Jake: It is worth offering several rez's - see note to Engineer.
Miz: There are many cams now offering global shutter, particularly on the small footprint ones (lipstick etc) - but unfortunately GoPro hasn't figured that out yet.

Biggest issue I see with downsizing for both photos and video is the gross difference in pricing. IF a web sized is worth less ( I have my doubts) the difference should not be as much as presently shown. We talked to P5 about allowing the artist to set the upper and lower limit on products. I'd opt out of downsizes at SS due to the far too low of prices. Lots of money is made with low rez web, cell, tablet and computer footage, we need to share in more of it.
I wasn't saying 4K is dead, it will be years before a substantial number of 4K TV sets are in living-rooms. Agree that 4K gives producers more ability to crop but also currently most producers have no use or capability to work with 4K. That is why downsizing 4K to HD would be a positive move (same prices for both versions ;))

I didn't say downsized clips don't sell, from my experience I don't sell that many on the sites that offer it. so not worth my time to do it.
If pond5 offered it, I would use it.
I also hate the $3 or $4 web videos on SS, luckily they don't come often.
