Anybody interested in doing a monthly critique group?

Seeing if there is any interest out there to do a monthly critique group? This would be for serious minded individuals who want helpful and constructive criticism on a monthly basis of their new uploads for each month. I consistently upload several days a week on a slow & steady basis. (about 100/month or so). I was thinking that anyone who wanted to be included could check in and put a quick comment on the topic maybe the 15th of every month (payday easy to remember!). Then whomever wanted to help out could check the interested participants' portfolios (focusing on the previous month's uploads only) and make comments on the topic post.

I personally would also appreciate a general critique of my overall portfolio. I will honestly admit that I was scared and worried for a long time about putting myself out there but I genuinely want to improve my skills and quality of work as I strive to one day soon to do stock video full time. In critiquing myself I know I need to get WAY more model released clips as I have focused a lot on landscape/wildlife type clips in the past.

And I would say this could be for all interested stock media artists: video, audio, sfx, ae etc.

So what do you all think and who's in?? =)

Nice idea, but who really has the time to critique other's works? I would not even want to tread on those waters as this industry, it's products and it's artists come from all walks of life. Hence, everything is subjective. Additionally I don't think any of us really are qualified to critique anyone else's work. I for one would never consider it as I am not an expert. Anyone that claims to be is full of you know what. :)

You are doing wonderfully fine. So focus on that. Your experience over time will be far more valuable than any critique from anyone here. :)

I think it's a very good idea. None of us in this blind end of the industry (cannot see the buyers) has enough information from clients or peers. Sharing information and critique always a way to grow, I know from personal experience. The more information we have coming at us, the better we can make informed choices. Sign me up.

tbmpvideo, cool we've got 2 counting you and me =)

@RedMoonRisingStudios & @tbmpvideo I'll give it a go, maybe some parameters should be involved though; like some sort of a critique, submitted by each producer, of perceived target market and justification for the price of each segment, and limit each monthly selection to, two from their best, middle and the lower end produce.
RedMoonRisingStudios 9 Aug 2014 02:34
@Overhead, to clarify, are you saying to submit a couple different clips based on price differences? like a few of your lower priced clips, medium priced, and high priced?
OverheadProductions 9 Aug 2014 03:08
@RedMoonRisingStudios that's my suggestion, I don't think it's going to be practical to suggest going through all clips submitted in a month, so some sort of parameters will help that
RedMoonRisingStudios 9 Aug 2014 19:15
@Overhead, Yes I agree. Some of us upload 100s or 1000s a month I'm sure. Not me though, haha! How about a portfolio submission of 5 clips a month? Those wishing for a critique can submit the clips via the link icon below the message box and select 'player'. that way the clips will be viewable from the thread. Maybe broken down as follows:

1 high priced clip
2 mid priced clips
1 lower priced clip
1 wild card-pick whichever one you want =)

Personally, I don't vary my price points a whole heck of a lot. I may have one clip that I sell for $10 less and call it my low price. Just fyi. No minimum or maximum price structure here. don't want to get into a pricing debate on this thread ;)
