Please comment GoPro 4 Silver

I am thinking about getting a GoPro Hero 4 Silver with underwater housing. It's $500 Canadian dollars including tax.

But in 4K, it only has 15 frames per second. Is it still usable as footage?

The 4k video mode is really only good for timelapse stuff. Otherwise, it's fairly useless.

However, the other video modes are outstanding and you can NEVER go wrong owning a GoPro. :)

If you are not in a hurry I believe they will release the GoPro 5 this fall. It will have 4K or better at 30fps. When that happens the 4 versions will not have much resale value.

Agree don't buy based on 4K at 15fps. not much good other than for YouTube and Facebook.

Why don't buy the GoPro 4 Black? The touchscreen is additional available.

Yes, it's much better to buy the GoPro 4 Black since it does 4k at 25p/30p which looks really good!

Better wait for GoPro V5 with 4K 60fps (?). Or consider Xiaomi Sport camera FHD 60fps, F2.8 lens, super sharp, cost much less.

Forget xiaomi its total crap unless you want it for fun.Get the black edition i would say, no need to wait for another gopro, that game of waiting for the next updated version never ends.

All these small Sport Camera are cheapy crap, including GoPro.

Yes but xiaomi is way crappier :)
Softer image even though it is 1080p and actually digitally oversharpened to the point that you can see halos around edges,worse compression and dynamic range.
What can i say?If someone manages to sell 50usd HD clips off a 80usd camera im more than happy for him.
Why not buy a simple gopro hero then?Proven camera and with a better image.
