Yes thats what i believe too, especially given the burst rate and the transfer speeds. If anyone can shed any light on this i'd appreciate it greatly.

I tried the timelapse app on the rx100 IV. It works well and is customizable with zoom in-out and other stuffs, but unfortunately the output is only FHD and not UHD. However you can use the saved stills to mount the UHD timelapse.

Interesting. So along with the raw stills it automatically creates an hd clip?Is this only if you shoot jpeg's perhaps?Did you try to shoot intervals with it like 1 sec? Thanks.

@gcrook I used a fast SD card 95 MB/sec U3 and set shutter to 1 second shutter priority and held the shutter down and it kept on taking photos until I got bored, no buffering, I was shooting Raw + JPEG as well.

Thanks Normstock perhaps i will start using it for certain subjects where fast timelapse recording is needed, to see how it does.

scattoselvaggio, is that the cell phone app or something else you did through the menus? Looks really good.

i can't understand why sony doesn't develop a time lapse feature in their cameras..
holding down the shutter button is not an option for me...many times i need to change exposure over time so i need full control..

You can certainly use external "remote time control" to take Timelapse. (If Sony RX10 II) has this function. My Panasonic FZ1000 has incamera TL and you can choose from 1 second to whatever second to shoot unlimited until your card and battery gone. When this Sony is a good camera in general, TL function is just minimal problem, can be solved easily.

Time lapse app on RX100 3 and 4 works great, taking 20MP RAW stills ... only limitation is 990 frames (but you can space them out if you need to) and battery life, which can be solved by USB power supply - really easy. Great to have a truly functional tl solution in my pocket at all times!

Gene,

"USB power supply"?

I like to know How to do it in outdoor?
