Highland Games
The Highland Games are based on traditional competitions held hundreds of years ago when Scottish clans met up. With the tradition going back at least as far as the 11th century. The contemporary games are professional sports events predominantly focusing on strength events and evolved forms of the original events remain such as throwing the hammer, putting the stone, the MacGlashan/Atlas stones and the world renowned caber tossing.
