Stupid rejection reasons...

P5 curators are not editors, They accepted some of my close up shot just because the frog was croaking but not the wider version or when it's silent...

Meh....just had another batch curated, wow! they are getting fast now I must say, 50% approved and 50% rejected but it good, they allowed a little bit of everything but booted back the ones that are similar.....I can live with that.

Did not get any reason for rejecting all but one clip, even though there are no other clips of the nordic style of petroglyphs in the database. I know the exposures on all the clips are not perfect, but by far within tolerances of what can easily be fixed by the customer in editing/grading.

Curators dont seem to care/know about the importance of alternative angles and establishing shots.

The top one, the subject fills the frame and there is movement with the hand which is probably why it was accepted.
I can see why the bottom two wasn't accepted.
The middle one may as well be a photograph as there is no movement.
Bottom one the subject is pretty small in the frame.

Quite honestly, I'm done complaining about the curator rejections. There is no point to complaining as Pond5 has shown they are not going to change/fix the problem.
Instead, I continue to upload my clips to Shutterstock, Videoblocks and other sites who accept them and sell them. If Pond5 doesn't want my clips, it only hurts them and their buyers. And the buyers will figure out that the best and newest stuff is NOT HERE. That's why you see the other sites continue to grow and take market share away from Pond5.

@Midwest, and here I thought I was the only one complaining about the near 100% rejection rate. I think you said it best and it's unfortunate because this is the best selling site and that is why we want to get our new content up here and fast....because stuff sells here more than at the other places. I've talked to three people at P5 via email and off the forums and there are all very nice but at the end of the day the curator has the final say and that's that and those are the rules now and yea....it's sucks.
I use VB and SS as well but sales there are not even close to what I get here, if ss stopped taking new content I'd be like ok whatever, there aren't many sites that accept editorial either which is a problem and motion elements has very low sales and tagging and adding titles and stuff is so cumbersome it would literally take me 3 years to get all my content up there.

@Midwest....I too now rest my case and will cease complaining about curator rejections and focus on trying to save the business elsewhere and put the energy into that (vb/ss), just got another massive batch of rejections so yea...I get the message now. Got to work on getting every last frame of video off my storage drives and onto the other sites because they too may close the doors at some point, hosting all these files costs a lot of money so we never know when other sites will be full up as well and do same as pond.
and there has to be other ways to sell content other than through these sites, need to figure that out as well. I'm still new at this so I don't know everything. I come from news so still learning this area....

The key is just keep shooting, increase your skillset and shoot better, and keep uploading everywhere you can. That's all we can do.

Is it wrong of me to have a "nanna, nanna - Pond 5" moment when one of my clips sells on a different agency after Pond 5 has rejected the same clip?

I've recently had so many rejections with no reason given. One shot of clouds did have reason "no property release"? really I should contact God to get a property release? I'm still confused how you indicate the file is for "editiorial use only" when uploading? What other sites are good other than Shutterstock & Videoblocks?
