suggestions to avoid too long pending review

That should be a concern, other sites are indeed selling the same footage a couple weeks earlier than P5. This means Google has already crawled and found the footage elsewhere before it has a chance on P5. Ya a delay mean little as individuals but as a large agency having the same footage live for a couple weeks elsewhere can't be good overall. I know P5 is traveling a lot to trade shows and markets more than any other agency ... but ... review time to be the first to sell footage should be a very high priority. Can't sacrifice advertising but can't sacrifice being first.
.
Of course this entire discussion by us artists is of great importance and P5 is fully aware of these issues. I'm sure they are working on it.

I think the key here is figuring out how to slow the other sites... Just joking.

This is a tough outlet for urgent news worthy material I will give you that. I have shot a few things that I wished I could have gotten out faster.

To clarify, not just the approval process. P5 has rapidly approved my material upon request for news, but the second render is delayed still, and this probably isn't the first place people look for immediate news.

I would still upload it here, but market directly to relevant agencies.

Better is the enemy of good.

How about a merit based system? Proven earners go to the head of the line along with submitters judged "AAA" sales quality graded by the curators. Next, seniority is factored in. So those with a long track record of generating sales are rewarded and everyone else goes to the end of the line.

Being new, and not a mass uploader, I would be against that. You would be limiting the ability of new people to succeed in this market. Also, some of the successful people that would gain prioritization, would be some of the same mass uploaders. It is my opinion that there is not a solution of speeding up the process other than increasing staff.

Physics, newbies would not be limited at all. Their footage would rise in the internal search engine just like everyone else's. It would just take longer to be reviewed. If you generate a history, even as a newbie, of creating hot sell-able shots your rating would be adjusted for your next submission. People respond to incentives. This would be a good one.

Not sure how longer review times would not be harmful to me getting started. For instance, I presently have more items in review than I have approved. Glory, fame, victory... money. Plenty of incentives already. Not thinking a good crowd approval rate would be cool.

Some times life does not appear to be fair. Seniority, quality, quantity, perseverance, dedication are used in every job anywhere. Promotions at any job or industry are based on these same things. A new hire will not normally get promoted as fast, get as much pay or have the best job until they prove their worth. With nearly a million footage there are a lot of long term dedicated artists that have stuck with P5 and have proven their skill. There is still room and ample opportunity for newbies, approval time is a small perk to the proven artists. That is a very small reward. It doesn't limit sales opportunities, it just rewards dedication and proven ability. Since P5 isn't responding I'm not sure these ideas are even being considered anyway. I know they want to be fair and not make anyone feel left out or held back.
