"Olympus OM-D E-M1 mk2" or "Panasonic GH5s"

Since a while i plan to buy a new camera this year and my favourite was the E-M1 mk2 because it's mindblowing image stabilisation. Now i read several reviews about the GH5s and it's extended low-light possibilities, and of course the FHD 240fps. Since i have as backup camera the Panasonic G7 i'm really impressed about Panasonic. But the lack of IS in the GH5s makes me wonder if i will become lucky with it.
My main focus of course is video. I mostly shoot handheld on the run and in unlucky light conditions. Means i need both cameras ;) ....... but can pay only one and also will carry only one with me. In the Facebook OM-D E-M1mk2 group are only photographers which can't give me concrete experience about E_M1mk2 video in low-light conditions.
What do you think?

For what it is worth I am "usually" disappointed by the IS in the GH5. It feels more for stills work. The video looks very nice, but stabilisation not so good unless static shot. For handheld video it is sad, jerky. Low light is very, very good, and color depth is as well. Lately been shooting in 400Mb/s all I, and I can do a lot. I am not usually so happy with the FHD 120fps, but sometimes, yes. 180 is terrible.

Sometimes I find bad/jerky IS (in body and/or lens) is worse to stabilise in post.

When I read the specs on the GH5s I said "whew" as I did not see anything that told me I needed to stress about buying one. It is more important to shoot things different than others and original, than to worry about specs. For my own handheld run and gun work the GH5 is generally very very good.

Sorry no info on the Olympus camera to compare.

Using Olympus lenses (12mm, 17mm, 14-42mm, and 45mm) also on my Inspire 2 (X5S) , and since they swap so nicely with GH5 I can say quality of Olympus lenses is very nice.

the gh5s has a bitrate of about 400mbps vs about 250 for the oly
gh5s shoots 4k60 and will have lower noise with about 1/2 as many mp as the oly.

I don't have either yet but soon I'll be buying the gh5s and the dji ronin s once both are readily available. I have the canon 5d4 now and it shoots amazing video.

But the 4k60 is not 400mbps All-Intra, it's 150mbps Long Gop.
The 400mbps is only at the lower and fix frame rate (no slow motion) with high quality..
But anyway a marvellous camera...

I have not heard anyone using the E-M1 for video, although it is a much better camera than the GH5 for still images.
Tonne of video people are on the GH5 and I have only heard good things about her so far.
I have a GH4 and I was thinking of getting the GH5, but since I am at the moment shooting mostly time lapses (besides drone), I have fallen in love with the Nikon D850

Here's a great YT video with E-M1 mk2 shots, must see:

Yes, as it seems it's a camera for photo enthusiasts and more about this it seems that photo enthusiasts have no contract with video ;) Nevertheless with it's fantastic IBIS and image quality it makes great video.
The GH5s low light will of course be better, but i ask me if the different is so great / much that it's really a big pro. The 240 fps HD indeed is an unbeaten pro for the GH5s, ...............

......... but only 10mb pixel photo and the lack of IBIS ? :( :( :(

I fear that shooting video handheld maybe 90% trash. My backup camera is a Panasonic Lumix G7 (with IBIS) and i have a good lens with Power OIS, but it's really difficult to get a useable handheld shot, and often even postwork stabilisation in PremierePro doesn't offer acceptable results. I never had such problems by shooting handheld with my Sony AX100 camcorder.

That's because the AX100 is a camcorder while all the others cameras you have are not. In other words, you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

All the reviews I read come to a similar conclusion, Olympus EM1 MK2 for still photography and the Panasonic GH5 for video, I’m still waiting for a camera that can do both exceptionally well. For effective stabilization use a gimbal or stabilize with software.

I have the Sony RX10 MK 4 thats seems to do it all for me
