The thing is , ShutterStock bought pond 5 and envato, AI is doing a unimaginable "work", why buy two companies of million of dollars if people can do the job by theirshelves? do not get it,...

Question is P5 paid for this but nothing from SS. Are they sharing the AI data set? Since they are two independent companies should we not be getting an equal type payment from SS also? Just a question.

I the same, I think, should get it or not.

i found the thread today because i also got 50$ and didn't understand why. Not happy with it being done without our approval. Here's a funny thought though, what if we upload AI made music to Pond5, that will then feed the AI machine, and we keep doing that loop? :)

Today on a "Your media was purchased on Pond5!" email I immediately noticed that I had a much higher account balance than the last time I made a sale a week or two before. I logged in and saw a "Dataset Earnings" of $285. I had no idea this was a thing and I never gave my consent as I never recieved any notification my files would be used this way.

I understand why some people might be happy about this new way to make income but I'm a voice actor and for someone to train AI with my voice disgusts me. I'm here to perform, do the work and dictate what I sell my sound files for. Not compete against myself. It's hard enough to land a gig.

For me this is a form of identity theft and if I knew how to take more action than a strongly worded email, I would. They can keep their pennies if I could just put the toothpaste back in the bottle.

If your cat pissed on your computer with your tracks, that's called an outrage. But if AI reworked your music and you got paid for it, that's called technological progress.))And we can't stop such progress. I earned 334 from dataset. Not bad)

All of AI is being trained off of other's works both with consent and without. It's theft pure and simple in the cases of no consent given. AI would have nothing without being fed existing work. It's not progress, it's just a new way to steal and profit off the backs of others.

And if my cat peed on my computer, that's not an outrage, that comes with the territory of being a pet owner. Also, the cat gains nothing from it and likely has no malicious intent. Whereas your work is being resold so it can be resold again and again while people profit massively should be an outrage. If you're cool with that great. Many are not.

I received $1250 this week, last year I received $50. I no longer uploaded new items here after the first "Dataset earnings" email, at that time I had 500 music items, the same number of items now .

As I understood, dataset earnings coming to balance only once at the year?

Dataset Earning Payment Process Is Yearly? Monthly or weakly? Can anyone clear me ?
