Now that we are going to have 24(23.97), 25 and 30(29.97) P on 5D2, what is going to be your choice for stock footage? (Apart from indoor shots that require 25 / 30 p to avoid artificial light flickering).

So let me get this straight Don, you are taking a sensor that can shoot full (progressive) frames and cutting it down to interlaced frame rates? Why?

the new 5D MKII software upgrade is cutting it back to 29.97 not 30fps as it is now (or what it supposed to be now). So with the new software to get 30p it will need to be changed. Even the 24p in the new firmware will actually be 23.97 fps. I really don't think Canon has a clue, this upgrade is really crap. What was needed was a true 60fps. I know you know, but some don't, 29.97 is not interlaced it's still progressive. I know Jake processes his 5D MKII footage down to 29.97 fps p.
So unless Canon changes the firmware very soon, yup I guess 29.97 fps prog is the default.

I recently read somewhere on the net, I cannot remember where, that there is a trand among american videographers and cinematographers to shoot on 25P and to use it as 24P(as Interpreting in Premiere). What do you think of that?

I wouldn't shoot anything for stock in 24p. That's kind of a film thing from Hollywood.
Everything I upload is 29.97
I figure if someone wants a different frame rate, its easier for them to interpet to a lower rate than for them to buy something at 24 or 25p and interpet it to 29

I want to be unique, so I will be re-encoding everything in AE as 34.7 fps and inserting a red percent symbol (%) on a black background every 422nd frame.
