Learn from The Most Successful Stock Footage Producers in the World

Great things you said Jake, totally agree with you.
But his book is not for us, he just want to earn easy money with just starting guys who want to earn millions of dollars, and thinks that is easy money :)
I can tell everyone without that book just work for five to seven years creating and uploading clips and you will probably be a stock footage millionare, and remember first you need to spend a lot of money to earn that kind of money.

All I can say is visit http://www.stockmediaartist.com and enter code pond5 to get 50% off.

Here are a few differences:

1. I don't force you to enter any info to even be able to see what the price is of the book.
2. I don't sell on Amazon - I looked for his on Amazon and it stated that it was not available anymore. (Must have sold out and ran out of electrons.)
3. Use the code "pond5" and get 50% off - if you use code "istock" it will charge you one million dollars. (my evil plan to become a millionaire)
4.I certainly won't tell you that you would become a millionaire, but I will explain and show some neat tools to somewhat figure out what's hot and what's not.

Perhaps it's due for a second revision. But then again, that's what the blog is for.

Well, let's give him his due. That port he has on SS is pretty impressive.

Of course, with a complete shooting team, equipment worth more than our house and a couple dozen of actors... who knows what I might have pulled of...?

OK, any millionaire out there care for a bet? I'd be willing take on a high profile sponsor for... um... 25% of the cut? ;-)

Agree with everything Jake said 100%.

I'm already a millionaire...

I watched the SS live stream Q&A with the author. They completely ignored the Facebook questions several of us posted and only answered questions from the audience that was there live in person. And yes he spends a ton of $$ to make money. He admitted to spending $40k on a football shoot that hasn't come close to paying off yet. So I agree with the previous points made that this book doesn't seem like it's for the regular working stock video producer who is usually a 1 man show (or 2 if you have a spouse or a nice friend to help :)

Well, I will top that...Become a BILLIONAIRE with stock footage. Yes dear friends and companionites, you heard me correct, become a BILLIONAIRE with your stock footage! So you say to me "But Dave, how do I become a BILLIONAIRE with stock footage". That is easy and only I know the answer. First, I need a million of you kind folks to send me only $1,000. Yep, you heard it right, it'll only cost you a measly thousand dollars to learn how to make a billion. Why that is a return of like, whew, really big. So send me those checks and credit card numbers today and learn my secret!

Obviously he wants to make money from his book and i don't think he wants to teach how to shot at people that are already in the market but at New contributor with no experience...said that looking at his clips i must admit that he's producing high quality contents and it's clear that he spends a lot of money in location actors etcc...
He's making 30k a month??he should tell how much he spends a month to generate this income and will see how much he earns..it's all about income...(earning minus expense)...

My name is Robb Crocker, and I'm the author of Stock Footage Millionaire. Charles is helping me promote the book and talk. It sounds like something was posted that really pissed a lot of you off. I'm truly sorry for that.

If you're NOT interested in learning the story of how I went from $50/month shooting by myself (like I believe many of you do) to making a lot more than that......I won't take offense at all. But I would certainly hope you wouldn't judge me or the book based on a post from a brand new college grad who is simply trying to help me get the word out.

I think if you actually took the time to watch the talk I gave earlier this month, you'd be pleasantly surprised by the content and candor of my story. A story that I would imagine is very similar to a lot of other successful stock footage producers here on Pond5, like Jake.

I talk about how I was exclusive at IS for over 6 years before deciding to diversify. I even show you my entire career earnings.....something that no other major contributor has ever done before, to my knowledge.

I wrote the book simply because I love to teach and mentor. (Like I'm mentoring Charles in business.) It took a year of my life and thousands of dollars for editing, design, printing, etc. I WISH I was making a ton of money with this book, but I know it certainly won't even make my expenses back....and I'm OK with that.

If you like to learn, it's a very candid look at everything I did that was successful....but more importantly, what was a miserable failure. (Like that $40,000 football shoot.)

Many of you are correct in stating that I would make a LOT more money just keeping my "secrets" to myself, and focusing on shooting more stock footage. But alas.....money certainly isn't everything. And writing a book has long been on my "bucket list."

As for the title....I'm a marketer at heart.....so I knew I had to use a title that would turn some heads. Obviously, to some it sounds arrogant and pompous. But I'm OK with that, as long as it gets your attention. I bet if you would ask anyone who has met me, (including Tom Bennet here at Pond5) they'd probably tell you that I'm one of the most down-to-earth people they've met. (But that's obviously my opinion....you truly would have to ask Tom...or Andy....or Lon....or Jim....or.......)

If you go to the website, you can download a free chapter. But I'm not going to encourage you to do so.....it's simply a data point for those who truly are interested in learning.

Also, I'm certainly not the world's best stock footage producer. There are a number of folks who are certainly MUCH better than me. (I think my good friend Simon Krzic (SimonKR) is the best in the world. And my other friends David Baumber (Multifocus) and Daniel Hurst (Via Films) are right behind him....along with others who I have yet to meet in person like Wavebreak Media, Spotmatik and more.) That said, they are all too busy actually producing great stock to stop and write a book like I decided to do.

One of the best things, I've found, about this industry is the incredible friendships I've gained and relationships I've built with other producers. It saddens me to see all of this negativity and bad-mouthing on these boards.

That said, it's nice that Pond5 has given us contributors a place to express our thoughts an feelings. Regardless of whether or not the communication is constructive.

I truly wish you all the best in your stock footage efforts. It's an amazing industry that I truly do love.

If I can ever answer any questions for you about my journey, I'm always happy to do so. (Although I hardly ever visit these boards, so an email to my Uberstock email address would be best.)

Shoot what you LOVE!

Robb
