I am experimenting with a T2i which are currently selling for $600. I am trying to figure out if the autofocus is really necessary for stock.

Does autoeroticism count?

I'm loving this camera :)

I sold my T2i and got a T4i. I was going to just get the T3i, but I got lucky and a friend of a friend had a brand new T4i kit he was willing to sell for $100 more than a brand new T3i kit, so I took the plunge.

So far, I'm not disappointed. The AF while shooting is crap for the most part, although you can do some interesting rack focusing using the touchscreen.

Using the touch screen is SOOO much faster and easier than the buttons on my T2i. So overall productivity has increased while out shooting.

And I love that all my batteries and accessories from my T2i all still work with my T4i. Overall a decent upgrade.

ps. I got to play with a GH2 a couple of days ago and THAT is how auto-focus on a DSLR should work while shooting footage. Fast, quiet and accurate.

In 2 weeks I will buy the T4i (body only). I hope its worth it since the T3i (body only) is currenly priced at $500. Main reason for buying the T4i is continuous video recording over the 12 minute restriction that the T3i has. I need that feature for interviews. I hope it does not overheats.

It does not overheat, and a T3i w/ML installed will do the same job without overheating.
