Philip Bloom mad with RED.

Bloom cancels his RED Scarlet order and returns his RED EPIC: http://philipbloom.net/2011/12/10/nomoreepic/

Yep. I admire his integrity. Sounds stressful and reminds me why I am glad to be "just" a stock photographer. I had horrible run-ins with buggy versions of cutting end hardware that also knocked entire projects down in the stress of production. Clients don't want to know about your issues with gear. Gear-head nut-jobs defending prized products in a feeding frenzy attack pack! Poor guy.

Canon is offering him more. Sponsorship ... wish we could be that much in demand.

Looks like they have turned him down. Red fanboys don´t like this :)

His story about hippy rednecks was only interesting once I got to see those two second slow motion shots. I could read the markings on the shot gun cases. Pretty cool.

You have to admire him for standing up for what he believes in. He could have done things differently to get a free RED.

So typical... RED just refuses to believe that they still have a lot of issues. Considering that PB bought his as a regular purchase as anyone else would have to, and then gets nailed for speaking the opinions and facts that he assimilated - it just makes me more apt to never ever touch RED. RED is pretty much a "cult" zone. Sure when they work they shoot nice, but that doesn't mean they are the final solution. I am sure we will see some solid stuff come from the big boys very soon. Don't think for a minute they aren't watching this. I give RED one more year of life, then adios.

A Canon 5D Mark III with 1080p RAW video would be the holy grail. No need for 4k unless you want to put it on the big screen.

5D markII is fine on a big screen, I have seen it.

Welll said, a Canon 5D Mark II with RAW video, that would be great, I would not have to buy another camera. But that basically that someone has to hack it.

PB post was a suprise for me as I always thought he was sponsored by camera makers and I appreciate him for standing right.
