So basically no restrictions that people were worried about. Like the old CB radio registration back in the 1970's.

The DOT and FAA trying put out a firestorm with a garden hose. Like UAS/UAV registration keep everyone safe from idiots.

After twenty years of flying I can almost guarantee most of the pilot reports of drones near airports are white birds. When landing or take-off and with the speed of the jets and the busy cockpit all they see is a white blur of a bird and report it as a drone. It's all fear and sensationalism. Two days ago when taking-off from Houston and at almost ten thousand feet a flock of about 20 white birds passed the aircraft wing at a few hundred feet. If it would have been one bird it would have been a drone. Registration does absolutely nothing, it's too late to do anything but make the manufacturers put a do not fly areas in the programs. Any more rules than this impacts all the remote control aircraft that have been flying for decades. The AMA would not allow much more than registration. It's just another government waste of money. It needs to be regulated during manufacturing of the drones or remote control aircraft.

@jason - After 4+ years you're still stepping on my shadow ..... No I can't buy anything at this time or inthe months to come. Every extra penny goes to the daughter of my wife cancer treatment.

These are the recommendations which are no good news for companies that claim that only they can fly commercially down here. Maybe somebody will now start renting them for a reasonable fee.
