LUMIX GH5

Does it focus canon glass? I am considering buying it but Panasonic glass is so expensive.

With a smart adapter like the Metabones you will have autofocus, but it's not as good as a Canon lens on a Canon body or a Panasonic lens on a Panasonic body.

Just got my GH5 in today- added the 12-60 Leica at the last minute. Couldn't let that 400,- discount walk away and considering how much use my Canon 24-105 gets... Plus I was really excited about the body and lens IS working together.

Been playing around with it a bit and I think the Dual IS is killer. Viewfinder is wonderful, LCD screen is gorgeous, very sharp, nice colors and contrast.

Less of a crop factor (2 vs 2.3x), wider view!

Shot up to 6400. Will take a look at it later tonight.

Slightly bigger, quit a bit heavier but not lumpy. Combo feels like really well balanced.

So far just a joy to handle!

That's great news! Out of curiosity, where did you purchase it? I couldn't find any place shipping earlier than 30 March. Have fun trying it out, beautiful weather to do so this weekend ;)

Hai Stef, voel me schuldig dat we nog niet een keer iets gedronken hebben! Ben je in NL en niet te druk- binnenkort afspreken misschien?

And now afa the GH5 is concerned: got it at Kamera Express. Pre-ordered and I was the first one, they said, to pick it up. (in Amsterdam, that is...) Shot some slomo of my son playing voetbal today. 180 fps at full tele, handheld. There's some noise and it's soft but the latter could be me. Didn't have a step up ring for my variable ND.... But that dual IS- wow!

Dank je Jeroen, ik heb je een bericht gestuurd.

Alright, a pre-order is probably necessary to get it that fast. I'm guessing there's a lot of people waiting in line to get their hands on it. Really interested in this camera, but also in a possible successor to the A7s II. The slow motion that you took sounds great, definitely a plus, and of course the advanced color information. Dual IS seems like a winner as well.

any feedback yet imaginevideo? how is the video?

So far- really like the footage indoors. Nice colors, noise up till 6400 is fine and filmlike. Didn't have a ND filter and shot in extreme -unflattering- bright light at an unaesthetic soccer match today. I shot on the hot side. Verdict: video-ish.

Shot my wife with the Panasonic 42.5 with little light indoors at f1.8, ISO 800. Looks very, very nice. (but then, I may be biased ;-) That viewfinder image makes you feel like you're in some 3D movie, so bright, sharp and spacious. Absolute joy. IS held up great at this focal length- no jitters whatsoever. Still don't quite understand how it works because the OIS on the 42.5 doesn't team up with the body IS, is what I understood. So I don't know what exactly happens inside. I read somewhere else that up till 50mm you get that 5 axis IS and beyond you need that special lens that cooperates with the body. So what happens with my OIS 42.5 lens?

I wanted to do some comparison shots between the GH4 and GH5 but it looks like I already sold the GH4 tomorrow morning...

I wanted to add that I did not shoot in 10bit so that should make a big difference. There's a lot to learn and figure out...

Imaginevideo i guess the 10bit will be worthful when they will release the 400mb upgrade...now the 10bit is compressed at 150mbs..not enaugh to save all the data..
