LUMIX GH5

Yep, I agree.
Extremely interested in the GH5, but I think I'll wait until the 400mb update.
I am still quite happy with my GH4.
@imagevideo: thanks for the great review, keep us posted

sebolla, there is no internal 10 bit yet, not until april they say the 150mbps comes out. Then in summer the 400mbps will be released.

I've also heard in a video you cannot turn off the auto noise reduction, is this true? Maybe that's why 6400 iso looks acceptable for noise level.

Dapoopta...not sure about the internal 10bit..my camera hasn't arrived yet...maybe imaginevideo could tell us something more about it...
ABout noise reduction i think panasonic adopted an internal temporal noise reduction like all the sony cams have...nothing new...
gcrook 27 Mar 2017 16:13
Thing is can you disable that temporal noise reduction?
From what i remember hearing from early reports i dont think you can.
In v-log especially this will be a problem if you cant set noise and/or sharpening to your liking.
sebolla74 27 Mar 2017 17:17
It's like in the sony cameras...you can't disable it...

@dapoopta I have been shooting 10 bit/150 Mbps all day today. Will look at that NR later when I have time.

Mine should ship in 3 days! Can't wait.
dapoopta 28 Mar 2017 01:21
Interesting imaginevideo. From the reviews I've seen the 10bit wasn't supposed to be out yet, maybe they had the pre releases. Please check on the NR! Thanks for sharing.

Didn't discover any way to disable NR...

Did play with the EX Tele Conversion in 4K which gives you 1.4 x tele conversion without quality loss. So that makes my 12-60mm on the long end an 84mm, I guess. And that looked indeed losless, even handheld following a swan across the water. Really nice feature.

One quirk I noticed so far is that the PlayBack button regularly does not respond. Very annoying, I actually turned the camera off a few times to get into playback mode. The button is a little more protruded than on the GH4 so it should be easier to toggle... but maybe it's just me who doesn't know how to properly press a button...

Bought 2 Lexar 128GB SDXC cards, U3, Class 10 150Mb/s read, 80Mb/s write. That's 256GB of storage space in camera for around €140 ! Amazing.

I noticed that my iMac 5K does not read the .mov files straight from the card. When I import to FCP X, I can see the footage, otherwise not.
gcrook 29 Mar 2017 16:30
You mean you cant playback the footage at all with quicktime or any other application except inside your nle?
Experienced the same on a windows platform with early test 4k footage.
Only hd worked both ways.
Interesting...
