When I was 5 I was invited across the street to hear a friend's older brother practice his drums kit. After that, I wanted drums and at 7 I was playing drums. I was about 10 or 11 when I played with other musicians for the first time. I remember them telling me I was steady, and me having to ask what they meant. I never took lessons, just played to records and Casey Casem American Top 40. At 13, a move prompted me to stop playing drums.
