HDV clips - 60i in Vegas to Pond5

movielighter 25 Aug 2009 16:16
Hello,

I am new here and have submitted a few clips following the guidelines for submission, but they are denied each time and there is no reason given.

All clips, 60i HDV from an HV30. Rendered as Quicktime.mov file. 720x480 NTSC.

Can someone point me to any type of walkthough for Vegas and any tips to get past the keepers of the gate?

Thanks,

Michael

I'm not sure on Vegas but why are you shooting with the HV30 and processing the footage as standard def NTSC? You need to process the clips as 1920x1080 interlaced and use QT and Motion JPEG as codex. It looks like you are shooting in HD but processing in SD now. Good luck.

Hi Michael,

I've got your exact setup. I shoot with an HV30 and edit using Sony Vegas.
Feel free to pm me if you've got any questions re. settings etc. .

Jambo Jambo!!! I also have a problem with my settings on HV30. I shoot on HD and tried to streach the process from 1440 1080i to 1920 1080, but the preview window shows some black lines on the sides of the screen. for this reason i have not uploaded any HD footages. If i prosess in 1440 1080i, the lines are gone. Is this still acceptable or what should i do??When shooting, should i use 50i or 60i?

Welcome Michael.

What program are you using? Processing to 1920x1080 is not a problem. If you share your program I'm sure many here can help.

PP CS3;
capture or start PP CS3 in HDV 60i
1920x1080 interlaced upper field
square pixels
Export QT and M JPEG
