Terrible news. I left SS because I didn't like the feeling of being ripped off. Hope this move it isn't as bad as it sounds.

I will have to apologize to Mr. Oringer for insulting him and bashing Shutterstock soon. Me so sorry.
MWHUNT 11 May 2022 12:53
SS are against fair trade. We will all be making peanuts from our hard work. I don't see a future with video stock after hearing this rotten news. You can't trust anyone (it would seem) in this industry. What is the point!

@More_beans 2022-05-11 05:43 "Who bought whom?"

From Yahoo Finance:

"NEW YORK, May 11, 2022 /CNW/ -- Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK), the leading global creative platform for transformative brands and media companies, today announced the acquisition of Pond5, the world's largest video-first content marketplace for filmmakers, media organizations, and marketers worldwide."

Does anyone of you guys have an idea where to go now? We've got 8k+ videos on Pond5...
blvdoneprime 11 May 2022 13:21
Yikes.
blvdoneprime 11 May 2022 13:22
Oringer must be laughing at us now. Sad.
Translumin 11 May 2022 13:26
We should all go to an Unsplash platform for video and price fix these greedy mofo's out of their own game. Every business decision has risk/reward ratios and staying in with SS will do nothing for vendor/creator revenue anyway.

I think another P5 might be ahead of the road the same way as another very well know cooperative was created in the past. Many contributors want to work with fair partners. So room for other players that want to establish healthy relations with creatives in the future.

Wait for the next Contributor Agreement. The email we all got sure makes it sound like it's a great deal for us contributors
