suggestions to avoid too long pending review

The suggestions should be aimed at having less review time. I agree reviewing photos or video or sound clips must be tedious and should be automated in some way (and maybe is), but to avoid unjust queue the solution is simply to set some 'filters'. My idea above was one possible solution. Delay just clips that reviewers see on the screen as all similars and send a warning to contributor. Next time they will know that THEIR clips will have to wait longer in queue, not mine!

@AlfractUp. No you misunderstood, is not a question of commoner versus elite. I am not any elite and I started this thread. I believe in fairness, that's all. In this moment at Pond5 something is not good. Precisely the excessive length of review because of some contributor submitting extraordinary numbers of similar clips (just today, set the 'new clips' order and you will see what I means... ) I know the people that practice this strategy mostly fails, because the perceived value of their clips is very low. This is not the point anyway, their problem, not mine.

But I started to raise the question if this is still acceptable, from Pond5 point of view (hello there? anything to say here?), in the general interest.
With all contributors clips delayed for weeks because of few that abuse and slow down the entire reviewing system, I am asking to consider very seriously the question.

yup ;) Products that have the highest likelihood of consistent sales should have priority. Has nothing to do with elite or commoner ... WTF. That only makes good sense for everyone. Sales is all that matters. I agree that building a portfolio for bragging rights is meaningless for P5 or individuals.

I am just saying, elite status would have the adverse effect of not allowing new contributors to thrive.

P5 would need a larger review staff. If it is not possible to maintain acceptable profit level while expanding, then there can't be a more intensive review without slowing the process.

If P5 thought that they could make more profit by expanding the staff and creating a more intensive review, and I am sure they have had the thought, they would have implemented it.

I believe that they are content with the poor quality material falling into the video abyss over time. Meanwhile, although it would be cool to have it happen faster, my material is approved around the amount of time it takes to have the second render pass that improves quality, and I am content with that.

Maybe we as contributors should be trying to think ahead. For example, creating holiday content well in advance, rather than becoming frustrated over rapidly approaching holidays and waiting for approval.

I am not saying that anyone is doing that, and I appreciate this entire dialogue, I am just saying, that what would be the benefit, in the big picture, of getting stuff approved seven days faster?

On the other hand, I hate the excessive uploading of identical content. It is useless, bogs down the system and makes it all that much harder for buyers to find stuff. For that reason, I agree that people mass uploading content should have material diverted to a 'special review' process. If that would make it easier for buyers to locate what they are looking for (enough to increase sales) then maybe it would justify pay for the position to employ a person to perform the task.

Maybe p5 prefers to increase the total video count of their inventory right now, and at some point they will start eliminating useless content, or more meticulously reviewing content. For example, maybe they are trying to reach a certain number of imagery prior to slowing their inventory growth, just so they can state that they have 'that much content'.

I was wondering if that was the magic number also.

Just kinda sounds like a good round marketing number to me.

Still no answer to my question eh?

what Q

I guess the bottom line which was already stated is, if it's because of growing pains then hire more inspectors.

At least P5 isn't the worst in waiting. Most places are a week or two, one is 4 months and one site is 4 hours.
Since most people sell on more than one site, a selling point would be to have the quickest reviews and have the newest clips for sale before any other site.
