Bushman if you have QT PRO set settings MOTION JPEG B then set size to custom and input 1920 1080 in the boxes. By the way square pixels are only used in computers not onTV.

Thanks jason. but when i dont de-interlase, the pictures dont come out clean. Should i deinterlase yet the native take was interlased? I think Dapoopta once said never to de-interlase a HDV clip.

If shot interlaced leave it interlaced. If shot progressive leave progressive.

Leave it in its native format interlaced. Viewing on a computer screen will always show artifacts especially when panning. When I looked at this clip of the bicyclist in full 1920 x 1080i I saw a lot of artifacts as she entered the scene. The cameras native footage is 1440 x 1080i.

Thanks guys. i think i will have to re-do all the clips again without de-interlasing them. This is quite a job!!

Jason, at what poind do the artifacts disappear? If i re-import all the 200 .mov de-interlased clips back on to the timeline, and re-edit them with the correct settings, will they get a quality hit? I dont want to upload something that will be rejected. sorry guys for the bother.

My first attempt at computer-generated HD (1440 x 1080) was resized by the system to 720 x 480. I double-checked, and the original QT file is indeed 1440 x 1080, NTSC/DV encoding, interlaced. Does anyone know why the system resized it and what I can do about it?

Cannot find item [497278]!

Are you using QT or QT Pro? For animations there are two settings that you can use animation and PNG. Once you pick which one you want to use then go to the size settings and use custom and the size to 1920 x 1080 in the two boxes. Sound like you used DV/DVCPro - NTSC in the compression settings which would down convert to 720 x 480.

Hey, Jason.

I'm using QT Pro, but only as a viewer. When I view the .mov file with it, the movie inspector tells me that the file is indeed 1440 x 1080, and it appears so on the computer screen. It's the P5 system that's resizing it after I upload it for some reason.

I have a few animations on line and P5 never resized any of them. Any mistakes in sizing were done on my end and uploaded that way.
