Three Weeks to reject all of my clips ....

Tkboom 24 Feb 2015 22:24
so I had all my 1st batch of content rejected because of "excessive black frames at the beginning of the clips ...", is there an area on this site that can tell us what will get rejected. I was unaware that a fade in was a no no .. as it is not available information.

a little .. dismayed ....

You must be new to stock?
No stock site will accept fade in.

Think about someone buying your clip. They can't use a fade in. This isn't a movie you're selling but something they want to put in their commercial.

The clip is a linear slider clip with semi-repeating elements, spray cans lined up in a row and a 90 degree shot on them. The clip could be used after the fade if desired, as the fade is 1.5 seconds and the clips are minutes long. The subjects repeat in type, not exact but enough for the subjects to be identified. I find it odd to reject something for 1 - 100th of the length of the clip. I find it odd that someone couldn't edit out a 1.5 second fade in or out. If they are using the stock, they will edit it. Not a hard thing to do .....

If it's not hard I would suggest you edit and take out the fades and re-submit the video.
Bottom line is, no body wants to buy a few seconds of black. If they are buying 15 seconds they want 15 seconds.
(Or however long you video is.)

faaaaaantastic .. I will do the work for them ... the issue really is re-submitting and P5 taking 3 weeks to review it ... fun fun fun ..

"faaaaaantastic .. I will do the work for them "

Yes, that is the idea, That would be why they would buy the material because you did the work for them. Weird how that is.

I still think it is terrible that 1.5 seconds of a 2-3 minute clip got them rejected is terrible ... Weird how that is ... huh?

Assuming an open ended logarithmic scale for the world's terrible and heinous events, a scale not unlike the Richter for seismic measurements, I'd put this in at a solid 0.2

Why is your clip so long? "Most" clips are, say, between 7-30 seconds. In general editors are looking for a second or three at the most, although longer clip duration is certainly not "wrong" it is just that there should be a reason.

they may reject your clips for being too long as well. I think the max is 30 seconds.
