Description:
Tumblagooda Sandstone cliff in Western Australia. This is Silurian rock deposited 400 million years ago on land at the edge of the sea. This was before animals evolved out of the sea, although plants may have established at the edges by then. So there are no animal fossils in
the rock. But in these rocks are trace fossils of the first animals that crawled ashore from the sea. See other footage to go with this... Files:EurypteridTrack1-3. These files show footprints of giant scorpions called Euyperids. Google Tumblagooda Sandstone for full details.
