This is the terrifying moment a python was found dangling from a family&'s ceiling.
The reptile was sheltering from the cold weather when it was discovered by horrified residents in Nakhon Ratchasima, northeast Thailand, on October 23.
The locals called snake catchers after finding the 17ft serpent coiled around a beam near the ceiling.
Footage shows volunteers trying to untangle the balled-up python dangling some 10 feet above the ground.
They used poles to loosen the reptile&'s grip but its thick body was wedged in a narrow gap.
Officers had to prod and push it several times before dragging it to the floor. They said the beast weighed a whopping 22 kilogrammes (49 lbs).
An animal rescuer said: &'We believe the snake slithered into the house looking for small animals to eat and shelter from the cold. We will release it back into its natural habitat.&'
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world&'s largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
