Saviours Day weekend in Detroit, MI is annual fellowshipping event for an African-American Muslim sect called the Nation of Islam. Thousands of people attended the event which was held at public Joe Lewis arena in 2014. The itinerary included a keynote speech by the religion's leader Minister Louis Farrakhan, other motivational speakers, teachers, ministers, imams, and members of the Muslim and Christian communities.
The Nation of Islam, or NOI, is a Muslim religion founded in the 1930s. The organization says its goals are to improve the spiritual, mental, social, and economic condition of black people, especially those living in the United States. Its critics accuse religion of being racist cult, black supremacists, anti-white and anti-Semitic.
