Social Media Sharing

Is it possible to share a link that will show the image on POND5 without the watermark? I would like to promote items on Facebook, Instagram etc but with the watermark its difficult to appreciate the image.

I put videos occasionally on Facebook. I create a low-resolution version of the file and upload that to Facebook. Most videos on Facebook are so blurry anyway, and all my friends think my low-res videos look great. Of course, the high-res version is available here on Pond5. For an HD or 4K file that I have here, I will create a 480p version for Facebook.

Another trick is to put your own "watermark" on the video in a less obtrusive location. You could put "JVRKRUGER" in the upper-left corner, for example.

Social media share is a waste of time...it brings in new competitors rather than new buyers...

FWIW, before I started uploading things to Pond5, I made several sales from YouTube. The buyers contacted me directly and obviously there was no sharing the payment with anyone. And I did not post videos to YouTube with the idea that they would be sold... it just happened. For the most part, these were edited videos that showed a process or explained a story, such as installing solar panels and a feature on a big local kite festival.

They contacted you after how many viewers?

argomukiono, I have several different videos that have sold off of YouTube, and one that has sold more than once. All had many thousands of views at the point they were sold... one is a viral video with millions of views, and that's the one that's been sold two or three times. (It's a funny animal video, and I've sold it to TV shows in Japan, Korea, that sort of thing.) That viral video has also earned more than $4,000 on YouTube as well. I have a video on a Great Lakes freighter traversing the Soo Locks in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, which was bought by the textbook company Scholastic. It has many thousands of views and has earned a few hundred dollars on YouTube by itself -- Scholastic contacted me after the video had been up on YouTube for four years. Other than the viral animal video, most of my videos on YouTube are "produced" videos with editing, voice-overs, graphics, etc. They are not just a single clip.

Pvreditor,i don't consider youtube a social media...i did mean facebook..

Ah yeah, got it. First of all, it's must be viral to get engagements. Nice amount of sales by the way, congrats.

4k/50$ isn't worth to congrats, ..... more it's a shame and destroys the market ! :(
Surely will congrats anybody who gets a video viral, but that's another theme. Here we have a real business with a lot of effort, work and hope of anybody who is participating. It's not an endless row of lucky punches.
If pvreditor has such a good business at YT with millions of views and of course don't need to split his income, ..... i really would like to know what he's doing here where he can only expect some poor views within a long time, .........
...... what else than to rise the price level to an absolute bottom ?
Think about !

+1 Beckhusen, but it does look like cellphone footage and the bitrate is extremely low, so maybe not so bad for others.
