Software can batch procession my 4K FHD to native Mpeg4?

Mizamook 31 Oct 2015 18:35
Sony Catalyst Browse maybe? Or 4K Footage Studio. Both are batch conversion programs (Catalyst is free (but you have to sign up) and Footage Studio is not expensive.

I tried the GoPro thing before...even the paid version does not import non-GoPro h.264 (even though the Inspire 1 and GoPro can share the same card without formatting)

Not sure what you mean by "native" ... if it's out of the camera, it's not native anymore . I guess. Since you don't have bandwidth issues, convert it to PJPEG and you're done.

Thanks so much every one.

P5 rejected 90% of my last submssion. The curator said they don't accept non-native codes anymore. Mine is Mpeg4 in MOV. So what is the curator means? Should I upload Mpeg4, means ending with .mp4 ? That is why I am asking for a Batch processing software so I can convert all my file to mpeg4 (no MOV container). It is hopefully smaller file size, or may be not at all.

This is what curator wrote.
""Hi there, I'm afraid we do not accept non-native mpeg4 codec clips. If you are able to provide versions of these clips in one of our accepted codecs we would be happy to consider them. Kindest regards.""

What is that means? Support have not answer me why they changed their rule yet.

@Gene,

May be you are right. GoPro Studio did not support non-GoPro video. Why should they? :)

OK, I haven't tested this, but if they are judging the file by its container, why don't you try to change the .mov wrapper to .mp4? Maybe I don't know the difference between mpeg4 and h.264 ... I should check before talking, but maybe easier for you to check?
Literally change the .mov to .mp4 (rename) and see if it works. If not, try re-encode in h.264 but use the mp4 wrapper. I think I can do that in both Vegas and Footage Studio. Footage Studio is much like GoPro app, but takes everything pretty much (although not XAVC from the X70, I found out)

Wonder why you got that message from the curator ... did you confirm it with follow up?

Interesting... I didn't realize if you made a quicktime mov file in the mp4 codec that it isn't the same as a mp4 codec in the mp4 container.... maybe I'm mistaken. Most the codec stuff confused the crap out of me anyway.

"The curator said they don't accept non-native codes anymore .." So that means no more PJEG or ProRes also ....

Jonathan, help..

This is what curator wrote.

WHAT IS THAT MEANS ?

@ dapoopta

Me tto. I know nothing about codes. I know only what codes P5 accept and I make those for them.

@ Gene,

The file is useless if you change the ending from MOV to MP4 !

@ Don

Do you think curator know what he is writing, or we are just too stupid to understand. ?

Im sure something is mixed up. Usually P5 do accept "Quicktime H.264 *.MOV" files. Should be the same files they are offering as downconversion from 4K material to the buyers.
Beckhusen 1 Nov 2015 09:38
Pat, 90% ??? :(
Is that the way how P5 cares for his long time contributors?
BunFest 1 Nov 2015 12:15
More than 90%. Because of the wrong codes which they were accepted before. All of a sudden they changed without notice.
Mizamook 1 Nov 2015 21:15
Wait ... is what you are saying that they are gonna take your already submitted material and make you redo it?

Ouch. <---big understatement
