DSLR frustration

I don't know how many artists in this forum are using 4K monitor? Percentage ?
It is not only upgrade a 4K monitor, you have to upgrade other hardware. I don't own a 4K TV yet? My old HD TV looks good. :)
I know Stefan just bought a complete new PC, what about 4K monitor?

4K monitoring is not that important right now - also for professional use "good" 4k panels are still too expensive 5000 - 8000 USD. As patuwe97 said you will need some hefty hardware to play 4K in realtime with all layer nodes and grades on it. More important is a color accurate workflow and correct bias lighting. I've just upgraded my editing suite for 4K but monitoring is still done on a Full HD color accurate Eizo display. A small pic is on my profile cover photo.

I check my video files on 27" FHD monitor in full screen, photos in original 1:1 resolution.
Am i wrong in my mind that every pixel on a UHD monitor appears for the eye only with 1/4 size than the same pixel on a HD monitor? In this meaning a large HD monitor should be better to check the smallest details. Pixel is always pixel and a XY" UHD monitor shows the same amount of pixels more compressed than the same monitor in HD resolution, which shows in 1:1 resolution 1/4 of the same clip.

More about this belonging to dust and dead pixels:
My Lumix G70 which i have since a few weeks has absolute no dead pixels by 25sec exposure and also absolute no visible dust points by f22 shots. So we don't have to accept any of this restrictions by new cameras and only those artists who don't return such cameras to the dealer care for the more and more less standart of quality.

Absolutely, Punch their face with their bad-quality-camera ! Return it and money back.. No compromise !

"50% rejection on photos" .... WOW
BunFest 10 Feb 2016 15:03
You are lucky, I got more than that. Really amateur curator ! :D

ya don't need a 4K monitor that costs thousands of dollars. I use dual Samsung monitor setup. One is 28 inch 4K and the other is 28 inch HD. I think the 4K was around $400. The difference is incredible between the two. I though the HD was great but now it's just good.

Now i have written to Canon.de direct and asked if it's the actual quality standart to sell new cameras with dirty "sensors dust" and "hot pixels". The answer is disappointing:

They told me that it's not possible to produce DSLRs in a dust-free environment.
About "hot pixels" they wrote that no camera manufacturer is able to get an long-exposure shot (especially with higher ISO) without any "hot pixels". Also "hot pixels" can't become repaired in any way!
Now i ask myself why my old EOS 550D became hot pixels first after around 5 years!?

More about this they wrote, to avoid "hot pixels" i should use the camera internal noise-reduction.
Hmm? I didn't ry this with the 6D, but when using internal noise-reduction with my Lumix G70 the image quality becomes more bad, and more about this noise-reduction needs the same additional time like the long-exposure shot. I think for continuous shots and a timelapse without flickering this isn't a well solution.

So what i will do now is to buy the camera at a local dealer (Saturn, Media Markt) where i can get sure that it was never before out of the original package nore used and send retoure ;)
More about this i downloaded the newest Canon DPP v4 software. With this it works well to stamp 1 shot and apply the same receipt to all other shots. Surely in other software this is also possible and the way.
Nevertheless i hope to have more luck with my next deal.

I am surprise about the answer too. I saw an documentary about Fuji lens producer in Japan. The factory is in a dust-free environment. At least from what I can see, every worker has a dust-proofed white clothes from top to bottom, mouth mask, the glasses were in another isolated boxes. It looked very professional and dust-free to me.

OK, when they can't installed a dust-free sensor in their camera, why can't they clean them before they sell it. This is called good QC. Japanese camera manufacturer used to sell not-good-enough-lens on a reduced price without garantie. May be yours is in this case.

I would say just return it and have money back.

Canon does sound like arrogant!

I think the real issues occur when they place the filter over the sensor (all sensors have a cover glass) that you trap dust between these two items, you can't clean that later.

"dust free" environments have different ratings. There's just positive pressure on the room that pushes all the particles out of the air, and depending on what their quality requirements are there might be more dust in their dust free area.
