I am going to wait for Sony A7S mark II. I assume there is going to be one with this name.

The initial video looks great probably better than the GH4, I very rarely shoot over 400 ISO and for evenings I had a self imposed limit of 1600 with the 5D2. I'm liking this camera but it's too early to say it's the one for me. I need a compact lightweight run & gun travel camera, GH4 is same size as RX10M2 and a little heavier, but I have five lenses for the GH4 and ND filters, the RX with the lens reach at constant f2.8 and no sensor dust should give the footage I'm looking for, the only unknown so far is still photo quality............testing continues.

I have had mine for a week. Great fun to use and video looks good so far. Extremely crisp lens. I just wish the screen could move around more. I think this will be my standard walk around video camera until I can afford the new sony a.

Is it 8 or 10 bit and 4.2.2 or 4.2.0?
RekindlePhoto 3 Aug 2015 17:19
I think it uses the same sensor as the AX-100? I also believe the bit rate is 100?

I'm just waiting to see how the real untouched photos look like. Video should be similar or same as current AX-100.

Here's a comparison and 4:2:2 answer ...

So next question is does it have an hdmi output for 4.2.2 10 bit?
I guess with it shooting 4.2.0 internally I don't see a reason to go to this instead of my GH4.

I know Norm said "looks great, probably better than the GH4"
But how better? Sharper? better DR?

So far using this feels just like using my ax100 with a better lens on it. Editing feel the same, and dynamic range feels the same. the sharpness is definitely better in my opinion.

The benefit of this is fixed lens @ f2.8

The size is small and looks like a dslr. Not sure what the codec is, but I'm not one to argue about who has the bigger bits. JAKE!

Not sure on hdmi out...

As of now this is going to be my replacement for the ax100, so I'll be selling that shortly. At $1300 (with lens that you cannot take off :-) ) this is a great camera for someone who wants to run around and shoot 4k, if you don't already own a gh4.

I'm very happy with it, and glad to be back to a dslr form factor, which seems weird. I missed my canon 5D mark ii, and this thing reminds me of it. It also has built in ND filter (just 1), but I was shooting out in the sun and it really helped.

Has histogram, peaking and a few other neat functions that are helpful, the Autofocus works very well too.
