Sony RX-10 II

The world isn't 8 bit or 4.2.0 so I'm waiting for an affordable camera that conforms to my way of thinking.
Oh yes, it has to do it internally. No external recorder for me. That would kill the stealth of getting a small camera.

Hey Scott, take a full size photo with AX-100 and same with RX-10 trying to get same framing and as close as possible same settings in both camera and e-mail me a copy of both. Interested but only if photos quality is good. Totally agree with Jake on external recorders, not at all interested in something else to carry. Ok for a studio.
Other than the 2.8 what makes the lens better? It looks like it really sticks out unlike the AX-100. Might as well have a Canon 5D II with a 70-200 out front. Smaller size does look good.

The footage looks sharper than the GH4, reviews are suggesting Sonys XAVC codec at 100 Mbps is more efficient than Canons 300 Mbps on their XC10 bridge camera. Also 120 fps at full HD and no lens removal equals less sensor dust, 24-200 on the RX10 M2 looks like a GH4 with a 12-35, but the Sony does telescope as you zoom. The GH4 needs two lenses and a lens swap to achieve the same. For stealth shooting the Sony has a tilt LCD so in theory you could film with stabilizer on at waist level wearing camera with strap without people around you knowing. It's not a green screen camera but it will do travel run & gun very well in 4K. 8 bits 4.2.0 but most DSLR are, all you need with this cam is three extra batteries, a vari 62mm ND filter (for when built in ND is not enough), a camera support and you are good to go. If you time lapse you can use the electronic shutter saving your mechanical shutter from premature demise.

Thanks for all these posts. Has anyone tried the time lapse app? I think Sony wants you to buy it for 10 dollars.

That was not such a good review for the RX10 II.

True, but it also wasn't a very good review in itself imo. They didn't really go in depth very much.

For street video, are you still happy with your RX10 II? Works well under full cloudy skies?
