Stupid rejection reasons...

It's not "strictly a business"!!!
For most of us it's at first a hobby, we love what we do and try to be perfect as possible and grow. Then of course we all try to make some money with our passion. For some it becomes a full-time job in this way, for others it's a side job.
You, weather, are like an artist who colors non stop maximum paper sheets quick as possible without any passion and love and expect to get an income by wilful place your non-art scribbling everywhere to prevent placement possibilities for others.
Very unsocial, shame on you!
If all of us would act in this way P5 were an absolute trash market today.

Well maybe for some it is a hobby, it would be a lot of work to do as a hobby and expensive one, for me it's a business, I make a product and sell it, so there is totally a business side to it. I do enjoy shooting certain things more than others but if there was no money in it would I still go out every day and film stuff? I'm not so sure I would.

I guess most artists don't like to talk about the business side of it but I wonder how many would do what they do if there was no money in it, or how many could afford to do what they do if it wasn't a business, not just stock photography and video but other arts as well. One might love doing the work but at some point you ask, is there any money in this?

Although I do see your point, there are some in the storm chase community for example who are all about selling their videos and making the big bucks but there are some who absolutely refuse to sell their work, they post it for free on YouTube and social media but refuse to sell it for any money to a TV station. They will spend thousands on gas, vehicle, computers, weather gear, scanners and camera gear and won't sell for any price because they are in it strictly as a hobby....money doesn't enter the conversation.

Cactii why are you posting clips in this thread? Are these ones that were rejected? If they were not rejected it doesn't help other Artists to see what to avoid.

This oughta get interesting ...

Cactii,
I love your humor and good work...
Birds sells...

Make a birds thread now? ;)

weather: You're complaining since so long time here, when do you realize that your business ideology fails? Selling Pommes Frites and Burgers at McD is also a business and offers a steady income. Maybe better for you ;)
BunFest 14 May 2016 08:08
Haha :)

I had some unique clips rejected here just a while back (with reason that they aren't "unique", but none not even close to similar are present on P5)... no problem, they will sell elsewhere, where they don't reject unique clips. Well, they are already well accepted, it's just a matter of time till they sell.
I'm just worried that I even get rejected 4K clips that are not yet well covered on Pond5.

@Beckhusen You may be on to something, at the rate sales are going since March I think McDonalds pays more :)

Starting to pick up a little bit though.

My March and mostly April sales were ok. Only the last 3 weeks now are like a cut.
